Grammar School (3-6)

3rd Grade

Rod and Staff Arithmetic, Grammar, Spelling and Penmanship. New American Cursive from Memoria Press. Third grade reads:

• Farmer Boy
• Charlotte's Web
• The Moffats

Classical and Christian Studies are from D'Aulaire's Greek Myths and the Golden Children's Bible Story Book, accompanied by study guides. Stories are read aloud from Stories of Great Americans for Little Americans and books of famous Americans. Also science is read aloud from Christian Liberty Nature Reader, Level 3. Students study states and capitals with a guide from Memoria Press.

4th Grade

Rod and Staff furnishes our arithmetic, grammar, and spelling. Our history includes States and Capitals, as well as another Eggleston book. Science read aloud is our Christian Liberty Nature Reader, Level 4. Students do Rod and Staff science at home. Fourth graders read:

• The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
• Heidi
• Lassie Come-Home

5th Grade

Rod and Staff provides our arithmetic, grammar, and spelling. Christian Studies comes from The Golden Children's Bible Story Book, along with Memoria Press Study Guide. For classical studies we use Famous Men of the Middle Ages from Memoria Press. Fifth grade reads:

• A Door in the Wall
• Robin Hood
• King Arthur

6th Grade

Rod and Staff provides the arithmetic, grammar, science, and spelling. Christian Studies includes The Bronze Bow and a review of studies from grades 3-5. Classical Studies includes Famous Men of Greece from Memoria Press and The Trojan War. Sixth grade reads:

• Anne of Green Gables
• Treasure Island
• The Hobbit
• Horatius at the Bridge
