Jeannie Davis, LLS Headmistress

Jeannie Davis, Headmistress

Mrs. Davis began the Lexington Latin School in 2003 by teaching Latina Christiana I and Roman history to beginning Latin students for a few hours one day a week. LLS quickly grew to a full curriculum and several days at school. Mrs. Davis has been a long-time friend to Cheryl Lowe, founder of Highlands Latin School and Memoria Press, who encouraged her to begin this venture. Not unlike Cheryl Lowe, Mrs. Davis is a self-taught Latin student and teacher. She enjoys learning and teaching Latin.

Holding a BS degree from Western Kentucky University, an MAT from the University of Louisville, and an MSW from the University of Kentucky, Jeannie has had much experience in teaching in various venues. In the summer of 2003, she and her daughter studied English Literature at Oxford University at Exeter College in their Continuing Education Department. Mrs. Davis holds Lifetime Teaching Certification in Kentucky.

Mrs. Davis loves teaching children and watching them increase in their knowledge and develop in their character. Watching their abilities and confidence grow as they master their subjects provides great inspiration and reward to her work as headmistress. She resides close to Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, Sherman.
