We teach a classical, Christian education which means we look at everything in life and learning through the crystal clear and true lens of Christianity.   We see God and His handiwork in the beautiful world which He gave us to live, through the humanity of our fellow man, and in the inherent dignity He bestowed upon us.  All our subjects are taught knowing God is the author of all to be learned worthwhile.  He made up the math, as well as the science.  He inspired the great literature we read, the beautiful art we study, and soul touching music we are fortunate to hear.  He made the very tongues that speak Latin, English, and Spanish, etc. and the ears that hear the words said.  He was there when all history was made and subsequently recorded.  Our curriculum and philosophy are a result of that knowledge.  Our mantra is that we seek to cultivate wisdom and virtue through the good, the beautiful and the true.

Knowledge is power and must be coupled with virtue.  We believe our curriculum and the instruction of our teachers instruct students to differentiate and know the value of courage over cowardice, loyalty over disloyalty, generosity over avarice, truth over untruth, and love over hate.  Knowledge without virtue and wisdom is dangerous and can be misused to the harm of many.  Knowledge carries with it an inherent necessity to use it wisely and virtuously.  Wisdom and virtue only come from God and the provisions He grants us to know and recognize it.   We use curriculum and teachers who inspire students to answer to the higher calling of wisdom and virtue.

“A teacher affects eternity.  They never know where their influence stops”, an old adage states.  We believe this and that is why we seek to hire (and only keep) those who believe the above and our Christian faith.  Our teachers are our jewels, and we spend much time looking for and keeping and training the good ones.

Optional 3rd Day
For those who want the other subjects taught at school, we are considering offering an OPTIONAL 3rd day for 3rd- 8th graders. Students could take Geography, Science/Nature, U. S. History, Logic, Math games and Art/Music Appreciation on that day. There will small amounts of assigned homework for Thursday classes, as most work will be done at school.  However, the students who take the third-day class, will need to do their regular Math and Latin assignments from the 2-day program at home Thursday after school.  Tuition for the 3rd will be slightly reduced for the extra day.  If you are interested, please let Mrs. Davis know if you are interested so planning can be done.

Our goal is to cultivate wisdom and virtue through the good, the beautiful, and the true.  We use our beautiful and wonderful curriculum and our masterful teachers to accomplish this goal.  Our culture at LLS promotes respect and caring one for another.

Our school creates an environment conducive to academic excellence and the formation of Christian character.  We believe wisdom and virtue must walk hand in hand.

Classes meet Tuesday/Wednesday, 8:30-3:30.  Parents help with the homework given for the days not in class. The school year begins the day after Labor Day and ends the week before the Memorial Day holiday.

Our school is modeled after the prestigious Highlands Latin School in Louisville, which enjoys a 99th percentile rating for their K-8 students and a top 5% of the country for their SAT scores.  You can visit their web site at www.TheLatinSchool.org .
